Skin Resurfacing
In laser skin resurfacing, a laser removes the surface of sun-damaged or wrinkled skin, at a precise and predetermined depth. This allows the skin to resurface, and tightens the collagen fibers beneath the skin surface, restoring elasticity. This is truly skin rejuvenation.
Patients may look 10 to 20 years younger after the procedure, and results last about 10 years. The procedure is used to minimize the appearance of deep lines. It is also effective in treating facial scars and uneven pigmentation.
Light Therapy
Blu-U
Photodynamic Therapy (PDT), commonly referred to as Blu U, is a special
treatment performed with a topical photo-sensitizing agent, called Levulan.
Blu U treatments can remove sun damaged spots, fine lines and blotchy
pigmentation. It is effective in eliminating pre-cancerous lesions known
as Actinic Keratoses. Blu-U is very effective at treating problem acne.
It targets the cells, minimizes pores and shrinks oil glands, reducing
acne and improving the appearance of some acne scars. There is no hard-to-keep
schedule of creams, no pills with side effects – the results with Blu
U are amazing!
Photo Rejuvenation
Intense Pulse Light (IPL) or Photo Rejuvenation targets and removes
unwanted pigment while enhancing the production of collagen, helping
to soften the appearance of aging and sundamaged skin. Photo rejuvenation
can:
- diminish areas of discolouration caused by aging, sun damage or broken blood vessels; treat rosacea very effectively
- diminish fine lines, wrinkles and enlarged pores, and
- leave your skin looking and feeling smoother and refreshed.
You will see a significant change in the skin’s appearance after your first treatment. Improvements steadily increase with each additional visit.
Chemical Peels
A chemical acid peel is a simple and controlled procedure that removes dead surface skin cells, revealing the fresh, undamaged skin underneath. It is a safe, pain-free procedure that is non-toxic to skin cells. Typical results include a reduction in the appearance of wrinkles, increased smoothness of skin texture and the minimization of pore size. Chemical peels can also reduce acne scars and lighten pigmentation irregularities, creating an evened-out skin tone.
Chemical peels are targeted to your skin type and take as little as 20 minutes. Generally, a series of three to six treatments are required for optimum results. The results are quickly noticeable and your skin will have a refreshing glow.
Microdermabrasion and Chemical Peels
Alternating between microdermabrasion and a chemical peel works effectively
to keep your skin refreshed and healthy over the long term. For best
results, we recommend two weeks between treatments.
