What is Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD)? Each time you blink, a protective layer of moisture known as tear film covers the front surface of your eye. MGD occurs when the glands in your eyelids become blocked or don’t function properly, negatively affecting the tear film and resulting in Dry Eye symptoms.
